Lena Waithe has had quite a year and she's just getting started. She won an EMMY Award, a GLAAD Award, her show The Chi was renewed for a second season and now she's taking over Twitter with pride at the 2018 Met Gala. The theme for this year's exclusive invite-only event was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Draped in a papal-inspired cape designed by Carolina Herrera, Waite commanded the carpet and blessed us with some words of wisdom during her interview with VOGUE, "I want everybody to know that you can be whoever you are, and be completely proud." The pope himself has even worked to welcome the LGBTQIA community with open arms — we wonder what he thinks of Waithe's hommage to his traditionally white cape.  Regardless of his opinion, we know Twitter was talking all about it:
